Biography

Dr. Roe is an Associate Professor of Nursing at SVSU and teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. With a clinical background in medical-surgical and critical care, Dr. Roe a variety of research interests including stress and coping and treatment seeking in women with heart attack. More recently she has collaborated with area agencies on evidence-based practice initiatives. Dr Roe states "I consider being able to care for people in need as a privilege. Therefore, I believe that as nurses, we are obligated to provide the best care to our patients which is based on evidence. Our Master of Science in Nursing Program prepares nurses to answer clinical questions and determine the best ways to provide nursing care that is based on scientific evidence. I believe that SVSU is unique because we can develop professional relationships with our students which often last long after the completion of their degree.
