Biography

Aricka Schweitzer, EdD, MSOT, OTRL, C/NDT is an Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy (OT) and Program Director in the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program at Saginaw Valley State University. Dr. Schweitzer has worked as an Occupational Therapist in a variety of settings with over 10+ years’ experience. Dr. Schweitzer received her Doctorate in Education with a specialization in Higher Education Leadership in 2019, Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2009, and her Certification in Neuro-developmental treatment from the Neuro-developmental Treatment Association (NDTA) in 2011.

Teaching Interests

Past and current research areas include student satisfaction, intercollegiate/interprofessional collaboration, mindfulness in OT education, Assistive Technology in OT Education, Virtual Reality in OT education. Dr. Schweitzer has presented other research and educational works at the local, state, and national level with a focus on Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), Teaching in Higher Education, and teaching Occupational Therapy.
